Daily Word
Proverbs 5:18-19 (New Living Translation) [A thought for thought translation]
18 Let your wife be a fountain of blessing for you. Rejoice in the wife of your youth.
19 She is a loving deer, a graceful doe. Let her breasts satisfy you always. May you always be captivated by her love.
Proverbs 5:18-19 (New American Standard Bible) [A word for word translation]
18 Let your fountain be blessed, And rejoice in the wife of your youth.
19 As a loving hind and a graceful doe, Let her breasts satisfy you at all times; Be exhilarated always with her love.
Pastor’s Thoughts
Christian marriages need to get back to be CHRISTian. They need to not be about what they can get from one another. They need to not be about manipulating their own way. They need to not be about keeping up with appearances. They need to not be about being better than other peoples marriages.
They simply need to be about worshipping the one true God as ONE just as God intended.
If Christian men and women stopped thinking their marriage was about them then they would enjoy marriage so much more. There would be no speak of adultery at all… at least in Christian marriages.
That sure would set our marriages apart from everyone else, wouldn’t it?
Men and women who are married need to connect daily spiritually, conversationally, and there should be a regular occurrence of connecting physically with one another. This of course needs to be mutually agreed upon and I dare say that it is directed by the Lord Himself.
God designed sex to be a beautiful thing for men and women who center their relationships around God to enjoy.
I wish that Christians would stop settling for scraps when instead they could enjoy the real thing just as God intended it.
Christian marital faithfulness would solve a lot of the world’s problems. Let’s all choose to be a part of the solution rather than the problem.
One more piece of advice if you will. Next time that you are with your spouse physically, ask the Lord to give you insight on how you can serve them during that time rather than thinking about being served yourself.
Have a blessed Wednesday everyone. I pray that you will ask the Lord to show you how you can serve your spouse in the ways He desires for you to do so. Then do it. No excuses. Be the men and women God wants you to be.
