Proverbs 3:33-34 (New American Standard Bible) [A word for word translation]
33 The curse of the Lord is on the house of the wicked, But He blesses the dwelling of the righteous.
34 Though He scoffs at the scoffers, Yet He gives grace to the afflicted.
Pastor’s Thoughts
In the end those who live the righteous life will experience the blessed life for eternity. Those who choose to live the wicked (sinful) life will experience torment for all of eternity.
God would love for every man and woman to choose Him, but that does not mean that they all will. As we know, most men and women who have lived, are living, and will live on this planet will choose the wicked life. They will choose the life apart from placing their faith in Jesus Christ.
Despite what some “pastors” will tell you, God is not going to shorten their eternal sentence in torment, nor will He erase it. There are a lot of bad ideas out there about what Hell will be like. The truth is that if we want to know about Hell then we should read our Bibles.
You might be asking why so many men and women (most of humanity) will choose the opposite of God’s Word while they live on Earth. The answers are very simple for most of those people.
1. They do not want to have Jesus be their LORD. They just want Him to be their Savior.
2. They have a short-term mindset. You see, a lot of people think they will spend all their time on this Earth. They don’t realize that their life on Earth will be but a blink of an eye compared to the length of time they will spend in Hell after death.
3. They want to find another way that lets them do what they want rather than what God wants.
I wish everyone chose Jesus, but that will never be the case. So, while we are on this Earth we need to live as citizens of Heaven. We need to strive for righteousness! We need to share the good news of Jesus Christ to anyone who will listen. We need to shine the light of Christ for the glory of God!
Have a blessed Saturday everyone. If there is a sin that you continue to commit, get rid of it. When you get rid of it, replace it with a Godly habit. God will bless you for doing so. In this life or in the life to come.
