Pastor’s Thoughts
Our real enemy is Satan and his fallen angels (demons).
We do not need to be looking for a fight, verbal or physical. We need to be looking for opportunities to serve and to share the Gospel.
When someone wrongs us physically, obviously we can exercise self-defense. But what should we do if we get the upper hand? I have been in only a couple of fights as a Christian as compared to as a non-Christian.
As a non-Christian, I had started many of them and when I gained the upper hand, I did not let up, I continued to beat said person up.
As a Christian, I had only fought when it was in defense of another who was being physically mistreated. And when I gained the upper hand, I held the person down until they cooled off or until help arrived.
Our hearts should not be looking to harm others. In fact, the Bible says that our hearts are to look to love others. To be lights in the darkness.
We can’t be lights if we are inviting in darkness.
Save your fighting for fighting the spiritual enemies that are desiring to steel, deceive, and kill you.
And don’t fight with human weapons, instead fight with God’s weapons.
Have a blessed Thursday everyone. Look to build others up, not tear them down.
