Proverbs 2:20-22 (New Living Translation) [A thought for thought translation]

20 So follow the steps of the good, and stay on the paths of the righteous.

21 For only the godly will live in the land, and those with integrity will remain in it.

22 But the wicked will be removed from the land, and the treacherous will be uprooted.

Proverbs 2:20-22 (New American Standard Bible) [A word for word translation]

20 So you will walk in the way of good men And keep to the paths of the righteous.

21 For the upright will live in the land And the blameless will remain in it;

22 But the wicked will be cut off from the land And the treacherous will be uprooted from it.

Pastor’s Thoughts

Remember the book of Proverbs is a book of probabilities, not promises.

So, the probability is that if you stay faithful to God and His Word by living according to His Word, things will go well. If you choose to rebel and reject God’s way to live, then things will not go so well with you.

Here is the promise. How you choose to live your life on this earth will determine where you end up spending your eternal life.

If you choose to live your life as anyone other than Jesus is your Lord and Savior then you WILL spend eternal life cut off from God in Hell.

If you choose to place your faith in Jesus while living as if He is your Lord and Savior then you will spend your eternal life with God in Heaven.

God wants all people to choose Him, but He will not force Himself on you. You must choose Him. Once you have made the decision to be a Christian, each day you must continue to choose to die to your wants and desires and instead live for God’s. The Holy Spirit will help you obey God the Father. All you have to do is humbly ask Him.

Have a blessed Sunday everyone. Prioritize Jesus in your life today by worshipping Him with a local church family.
