Daily Word
Proverbs 2:12-15 (New Living Translation) [A thought for thought translation]
12 Wisdom will save you from evil people, from those whose words are twisted.
13 These men turn from the right way to walk down dark paths.
14 They take pleasure in doing wrong, and they enjoy the twisted ways of evil.
15 Their actions are crooked, and their ways are wrong.
Proverbs 2:12-15 (New American Standard Bible) [A word for word translation]
12 To deliver you from the way of evil, From the man who speaks perverse things;
13 From those who leave the paths of uprightness To walk in the ways of darkness;
14 Who delight in doing evil And rejoice in the perversity of evil;
15 Whose paths are crooked, And who are devious in their ways;
Pastor’s Thoughts
When desiring to be wise it is important to go to God’s Word and to prayer. It is also especially important to be purposeful about who we let speak into our lives.
The people we let have influence in our lives will influence us in the direction they are going every time.
That is not to say that you can’t have friendships with people who are lost and without Christ, but when you have friendships with lost people, go into them with a missionary mindset. You are praying and attempting to let your life shine for Christ to influence said person(s) towards Christ.
There are not a lot of people who are not Christians that will want that kind of friend, so be willing and be prepared for the possibility of rejection. It’s not anything you have done, it’s because you were willing to live a life set apart from the world and living it for Jesus Christ.
Make sure that you have Godly brothers and sisters in Christ speaking life into you and who you speak life into as well. Don’t make the mistake of doing this Christian life on your own or with the wrong people surrounding you.
Have a blessed Friday everyone. Be a purposeful friend for Christ.
