Feb 14, 2022 – Proverbs 1:28-33 – Given What You Ask For
Daily Word
Proverbs 1:28-33 (New Living Translation) [A thought for thought translation]
28 “When they cry for help, I will not answer. Though they anxiously search for me, they will not find me.
29 For they hated knowledge and chose not to fear the Lord.
30 They rejected my advice and paid no attention when I corrected them.
31 Therefore, they must eat the bitter fruit of living their own way, choking on their own schemes.
32 For simpletons turn away from me—to death. Fools are destroyed by their own complacency.
33 But all who listen to me will live in peace, untroubled by fear of harm.”
Proverbs 1:28-33 (New American Standard Bible) [A word for word translation]
28 “Then they will call on me, but I will not answer; They will seek me diligently but they will not find me,
29 Because they hated knowledge And did not choose the fear of the Lord.
30 “They would not accept my counsel, They spurned all my reproof.
31 “So they shall eat of the fruit of their own way And be satiated with their own devices.
32 “For the waywardness of the naive will kill them, And the complacency of fools will destroy them.
33 “But he who listens to me shall live securely And will be at ease from the dread of evil.”
Pastor’s Thoughts
There will be no person in Heaven saying that I wish I chose to go to Hell. But I imagine that every person that will one day enter Hell will say that they wished they chose Jesus and received Heaven.
God is going to give you and I what we ask for. If we want Him and Him alone then that is what we will get. If we do not want Him or anything to do with Him then that is what we will get.
In the end, no person that will be in Hell will be there because God did not give them the opportunity to choose Him. The case will be that the people in Hell will be there because they chose the world and its wisdom instead of God’s.
For those of us that are believers in Christ, we have the assurance of Heaven. I praise God for that assurance.
As believers in Christ, we must continue to live according to God’s wisdom above all other wisdom that is out there. We must spread God’s Word to as many people as we can and except whatever said person(s) decides to do with His Word.
Let’s do our best to show the blessings of living according to God’s wisdom and invite others to live the same kind of life. A life centered on Jesus Christ.
Have a blessed Monday everyone. I pray you will choose to live this day for King Jesus!
