Proverbs 1:16-19 (New Living Translation)

16 They rush to commit evil deeds. They hurry to commit murder.

17 If a bird sees a trap being set, it knows to stay away.

18 But these people set an ambush for themselves; they are trying to get themselves killed.

19 Such is the fate of all who are greedy for money; it robs them of life.

Pastor’s Thoughts

Sin always cost more than the price tag says. There have been and will continue to be hidden fees when it comes to deciding to invite sin in your life. Trust me, I have experienced this in my own life and counseled many of people who would say the same.

We think we are going to come out on top if we will just _____ even though God’s Word says that we shouldn’t ______. It just is never the case. Sin hurts our relationship with God, with others, and hurts how we see ourselves.

Sin often comes down to one word… MINE!

We want, we must have it, so we take it. This is not God’s way. This is the way of sin.

The solution to fighting the MINE desire is humbling ourselves and choosing to be content/satisfied in God.

Making the choice will bring a peace that no material possessions on this planet can bring.

And let’s be honest, once you get that thing you had to have the pleasure of getting it is gone just as quick as you are getting it. Sin always leaves you wanting more and doing whatever you have to do to get it.

Don’t fall into sins trap. Choose to make Godly decisions instead.

Have a blessed Thursday everyone!
